On May 8th, 2025, the esteemed Inbetweeners Golf Society enjoyed a memorable and fiercely contested Texas Scramble match at the picturesque El Plantio Golf course. Bathed in warm sunshine, the day was filled with an atmosphere crackling with enthusiasm and a  determination to perform. The members, eager to test their skills, engaged in a vibrant and engaging home game that perfectly encapsulated the essence of friendly competition and the joy of golf.

The favorable weather conditions played a crucial role in enhancing the competition, contributing to some truly remarkable scores and ensuring an immensely enjoyable experience for all the participants. The clear skies and gentle breeze fostered a relaxed yet focused environment, allowing the golfers to fully appreciate the beauty of the course and concentrate on their game.

Adding another layer of excitement to the day were the coveted Nearest the Pin awards. These challenges ignited intense rivalry amongst the members, with each golfer vying to showcase their precision and accuracy. Ultimately, TIM RUSE emerged victorious on Hole 7, demonstrating exceptional skill in landing his shot closest to the pin. LESLEY CULLEN followed suit, claiming a well-deserved victory on Hole 9 with an equally impressive shot. Finally, JOHN BRASTOCK secured his prize on Hole 14, rounding out the list of Nearest the Pin champions.

The Inbetweeners Golf Society gathered at the welcoming El Plantio clubhouse. Here, they enjoyed well-deserved refreshments and eagerly awaited the prize-giving ceremony.

The clubhouse was filled with laughter and animated conversation, celebrating the camaraderie and shared passion that truly defines the Inbetweeners Golf Society.

The highlight of the day was the announcement of the Texas Scramble winning team.

This year, the honors belonged to KEN OWEN, JAMES ROLSTON, TIM RUSE, and ROY HARRIS, who collectively demonstrated exceptional teamwork and golfing prowess to emerge as the champion team with an impressive score of 46 points.

Their victory was met with enthusiastic applause and heartfelt congratulations from their fellow members,  solidifying the spirit of sportsmanship and mutual respect that underpins the Inbetweeners Golf Society.
