Inbetweeners Golf Society:  Day of Sunshine at El Plantio Golf Course Inbetweeners Golf Society 8th October Match Report El Plantio Golf Course! Inbetweeners Day El Plantio, Sponsored by The Grill House, La Marina The Inbetweeners Golf Society returned to El Plantio, where it all began, to celebrate its 8th year at this fantastic venue. The day got off to a bright and early start with nine holes on the Par 3 Course, giving everyone a chance to warm up their swings. Afterwards, it was time for a well-deserved coffee and a snack before the serious business began! The Main Event – 18-Hole Stableford Competition Next up was the main course: our traditional 18-hole Stableford competition. As always, the course was immaculate, with beautifully maintained fairways and excellent greens providing a superb setting for the day’s golf. El Plantio demands accuracy, patience, and thoughtful course management, with every hole presenting its own challenges. But, as the Inbetweeners motto reminds us: “Play well, play badly… just make sure you enjoy it!” The Day’s Winners Par 3 Course 1st Place: Jimmy Scott – 2nd Place: Bertrand La Font – 3rd Place: Victoria Rolston Main Course – Stableford 1st Place: Vic Smith – 40 points 2nd Place: Tim Ruse – 39 points 3rd Place: Ruud Van Meggelen – 37 points An Evening of Great Food and Good Company In the evening, everyone gathered at The Grill House in La Marina, our generous sponsor, for a superb meal, plenty of banter and the presentation of the day’s prizes. Whether you’re playing for glory or simply trying to avoid the wooden spoon, the Inbetweeners Day remains one of the highlights of our golfing calendar. Inbetweeners Golf Society:  Day of Sunshine at Bonalba Golf Course Inbetweeners Golf Society: 24th September Match Report Bonalba Golf Course! The Inbetweeners at Bonalba This week, the Inbetweeners Golf Society headed to Bonalba for another fiercely contested day of golf, good humour, and, as always, a healthy mixture of optimism, questionable course management, and selective memory. It was particularly nice to welcome back our Dutch members, who had been missed on recent outings. Their return added to the usual banter, camaraderie and, naturally, a little extra competition on the course. With glorious sunshine and a gentle breeze, the conditions were almost perfect for golf. The course was looking superb, although the greens once again proved that appearances can be deceptive. Their subtle breaks and tricky slopes had more than a few players scratching their heads, with plenty of seemingly straightforward putts somehow finding their way past the hole. Three-putts, naturally, were blamed on the greens rather than the golfers. As ever, the round provided its full share of entertainment. There were some genuinely excellent shots that reminded everyone of the golfing ability lurking somewhere beneath the surface. These were, of course, balanced by a few efforts that were best left unmentioned — although they will no doubt be discussed at length in the clubhouse. Whatever the final numbers said, another great day was had by all. The golf may have been occasionally unpredictable, but the camaraderie, laughter, banter and, of course, bragging rights ensured another memorable outing for the Inbetweeners Golf Society. And, most importantly, it was great to have our Dutch members back amongst us. Their presence certainly helped make the day even more enjoyable. Until the next one — when, no doubt, everyone’s handicap will be blamed for. The Day’s Winners were: “Congratulations to our top three finishers in today’s competition.
